| On July 01, 2006, Bill Hicks, owner of Hicks Memorials and his family held a ceremony in order to dedicate a granite monument and eagle to the men and women in our Armed Forces past, present, and future. These individuals with the support of their family and friends have made many sacrifices throughout their lives, fought for our freedom, and have defended our country with pride and honor. The eagle has been handcrafted from solid granite with the exception of the eyes and talons which are made from black granite and apoxyed into place. The eagle proudly stands eight feet tall and weighs 5,500 pounds. The monument that has been dedicated was manufactured from Barre Gray Granite with a steeled finish. It was designed and crafted by Bill Hicks himself and with the assistance of Arthur Van Ness Jr., Kyle Swaine, and Tyler Kelly, the monuments were set in their final resting place between Dodge Hill Road and Route 149 as a constant reminder of the men and women who have served and are currently serving our country. |
